I Have A New Guilty Pleasure
Like most other pregnant women, I am hungry a lot throughout the day. The problem is that I feel very guilty if I overeat even though people tend to give you a pass when you are pregnant. My goal is to eat the recommended amount of calories per day and no more. In my mind, it may be fun putting on the weight but it definitely is a struggle to lose it after giving birth. I am never starving and since I eat the right amount of calories neither is my baby.
The thing is that I still have cravings and some of them are for things that I cannot eat, ie: tuna… yum! Luckily, I have stumbled upon my new guilty pleasure.
Have You Ever Heard Of A Mukbang?
It is basically when you watch someone else eat. Wikipedia defines it this way, “Mukbang is an online broadcast in which a host eats large quantities of food while interacting with their audience.” I personally don’t enjoy watching someone eat large quantities of food but I do enjoy watching someone eat the thing that I am craving. Most of the time this satisfies my craving and then I don’t desire it as much anymore. It is also a bonus to eat and watch Mukbang’s because it is like have a meal with an old friend.
Do You Think My Guilty Pleasure is Weird?
I thought it was weird at first but then I thought about it again. If you click on those types of videos on Youtube you will notice that there are hundreds of thousands of views on them. This made me realize that I am not the only one who likes these types of videos. It is a win-win in my eyes. They get the views and I get to enjoy watching someone eating tuna without putting myself or my baby at risk.
Do You Like Mukbangs?
If so, let me know why in the comment section below? Does it satisfy your food cravings like it does my own?
Thanks for tuning in!
Have a blessed day!
